The sensitive refurbishment of the existing store, plus the addition of a striking new extension, has resulted in significantly improved trading figures for the Camp Hopson department store. Working within the context and confines of a well known listed building, Sutton Griffin enhanced the shopping experience with a total redesign involving the removal of internal walls, the introduction of escalators and air conditioning throughout - all undertaken with only 20% of the store closed at any one time. The refurbished Store is a key stage in the larger regeneration plans for Newbury.
